Keeping an Eye out for Connie Britton

My final Nashville post. This one is more for the random fun things we came upon. There we were, our last night in the city, me still hoping that we might run into Connie Britton… but alas it was not meant to be. But we did have fun, just wandering from spot to spot downtown. Let me preface this with saying this was the first time I heard “honky-tonking” being used as a verb.

Here was our stomping ground:

Downtown View

Every bar had their own live band which is fun in and of itself but there were even some bands on the street such as this amazing “chick” band (is that okay to say?)…

We had dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory (my first time); the most exciting part for me was that you get free ice cream with your meal! Like I’ve said before, it’s the little things. I went for a pasta with a sampling of their sauces and then finished off with the ice cream.

We then proceeded to walk off the food from that meal and if anyone knows me, they know what I asked for next: more ICE CREAM! I mean come on, look at that tiny scoop above, it was excitingly-free but not enough.

Our first stop was a fun looking ice cream shop but the hot chocolate types looked more enticing actually…

As exciting as those were, we were still on a search for ice cream. Joel recommended a place nearby that he thought was better. And that place not only had ice cream but a treasure trove of candies and goodies…

Joel wasted no time…

I went for the more predictable chocolate-y hazelnut mixture (shout out to Nutella)…

My Gelatto

The only thing in this place that didn’t look so appealing was this; I’m sure someone out there likes them.

But, look at all this other good stuff!

Gummi Snake

So close to consuming one of these… but I tried to rein in the sugar intake…

Candy Apples

Those were probably the hardest to pass up at the time… However I did manage to acquire another favorite childhood item. Bubble gum cigarettes!! I hadn’t seen these since I was in Jr. High!

And then I took this picture for Sherry Harriss πŸ˜‰

So although I did not run into Connie Britton, it was a fun outing and I did take a picture of this place, Tequila Cowboy, which I then saw in the next episode of Nashville! So there was some success…

On that note, I’ll leave you with one of our awesome hipster band photos… If anyone is visiting Nashville sometime soon, take me along! πŸ™‚
